Cocoa Powder

I used the cocoa powder for my chili lentils recipe and it had been awhile since my in person purchase. I was ecstatic to make my purchase online.

Maverick hot cocoa is a favorite stocking stuffer in our family.

Maverick cocoa powder was excellent in a flourless chocolate cake. We are looking forward to testing it in our next batch of hot chocolate mix.

Maverick Natural Cocoa is now my husband's favorite brand of cocoa! He drinks two cups of hot cocoa a day (instead of coffee), and he's become a bit of a connoisseur. We've tried pretty much all the main commercial brands and a good selection of specialty order-by-mail brands. So far, Maverick tops them all. This is NOT your basic one-note cocoa! There's depth and nuances and overtones that frankly, we don't know how to describe. The cost (with shipping and handling) is a little too high to make this an everyday cocoa. But that's okay. We appreciate the company's policy of using ethically source cocoa bought directly from farmers. You pay a little extra for that--along with the high-quality, splurge-worthy cocoa. This month, I bought a few packages for my husband's birthday! And he will savor every cup!

My favorite thing is to use this in homemade hot chocolate, just add a little bit of sugar and maybe melt some squares of maverick chocolate in the mug too. Rich and delicious!
