Closing our Rookwood Commons Factory & What's Next

In our 10+ years of business, this season has seen the most change. 

We recently closed our store at Rookwood Commons. While it’s never easy to say goodbye to a place that was an integral part of our journey, we’re excited about what’s ahead. Covington, Kentucky, is now home to our new store and our new factory.

The decision to close our Rookwood store was not our choice. The landlord chose not to renew our lease so we were forced to move. When we think back to how excited we were to open the store in 2018, and about all of you who visited us regularly, it’s really bittersweet. And to be honest, the only sweet part of this situation is not paying that rent bill!

Though it’s been a tough season, we are hopeful and excited about the future! We’re thrilled to invite you to visit our new store on Madison Avenue - directly across from one of our oldest customers, Hotel Covington. While the store is still awaiting cosmetic renovations, it is open now and offers the same handcrafted chocolates you love. This summer we are expanding our offerings with a new cold chocolate treat. Keep your eyes open for that!

We’re also expanding in a big way with the construction of a brand-new chocolate factory on Prospect Avenue in Covington. When the factory opens its doors, you’ll be able to join us for tours, participate in hands-on classes, and shop for your favorite treats right where they’re created. The expanded space means we’ll have room for new products too. “Hello chocolate-covered espresso beans!” We can’t wait to share this exciting space with you.

Looking ahead, we’re also planning to open a new store in the Norwood area or along the I-71 corridor towards 275. We’re excited about the opportunity to serve our loyal customers there again and continue spreading the joy of ethically sourced chocolate.
